📌 Patient Privacy + Security Concern | Notice

The Superior Health and Wellness Team wants to personally assure you that your privacy is—and will always be—our priority. We are fully committed to protecting your personal health information in accordance with all federal and state regulations, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Your trust means everything to us, and we take every concern seriously—especially when it comes to the security of your protected health information (PHI).


Purpose of Notice:

Recently, a few patients have brought to our attention that they received marketing communications from a business unrelated to Superior Health and Wellness. We understand that these unexpected messages may have raised concerns about how your information is handled—and we want to provide reassurance and transparency.

Internal Investigation Concluded:

1. Legacy Email Address Display Error

Superior Health and Wellness was formed during a necessary business, clinical, and operational ownership transition that took place between March 2024 and August 2024. During this transition, all ownership of patient-related systems and third-party accounts—including platforms such as NextPatient, DrChrono, and OnPatient—was legally transferred from the prior business entity to Superior Health and Wellness, PLLC, under executed Business Associate Agreements (BAAs).

While the transfer of ownership secured all patient health information (PHI) under Superior Health and Wellness, it was discovered that some email communications sent from our systems after the transition displayed the former domain name (elitehealthonline.com), which is no longer active.

We want to assure patients that these communications originated from Superior Health and Wellness systems, and not from any third party. We are actively working with our security team to update and verify that all outgoing correspondence accurately reflects Superior Health and Wellness moving forward.

2. External Marketing from Unaffiliated Business

In addition, we have been informed that individuals formerly associated with the prior business entity have created a new, separate business. It appears that they may be utilizing contact information previously acquired to conduct independent marketing communications for this new business entity.

These marketing efforts are not affiliated with Superior Health and Wellness, and we are actively monitoring and addressing all reported concerns to ensure the continued protection of our patients’ information. Since the conclusion of the ownership transition in August 2024, Superior Health and Wellness has had full and exclusive control over its operations, systems, and patient records.

What We’ve Done:

We want to assure you that your health information remains protected under our care. Immediately upon receiving reports of concern, we conducted a thorough internal review of all systems and patient account access. Here’s what we want you to know:

  1. All PHI systems used by Superior are HIPAA-compliant

  2. We use encrypted platforms and secure third-party vendors to store and manage patient information

  3. Our internal IT and compliance teams regularly audit system access and permissions

  4. We have tightened internal controls and limited system access to essential personnel only

  5. Indicated that no data breach has occurred within our internal systems at this time, 2025-04-28T16:46:00-05:00

  6. We are actively monitoring all patient communications and access logs for irregular activity

What You Can Do

If you have received a communication from a company you don’t recognize—or that you suspect is not from Superior—please report it to our team immediately so we can continue to monitor and respond appropriately.

If you are receiving marketing communications from an entity not associated with Superior Health and Wellness and would like to stop receiving them, we recommend the following steps:

📩 Unsubscribe Link: Look for an “unsubscribe” or “opt-out” link typically located at the bottom of the marketing email, and follow the instructions to remove your email address from their list.

📧 Mark as Spam: If no unsubscribe option is available, you may mark the email as “spam” or “junk” through your email provider to automatically block future messages.
