Finasteride is indicated for adult men only and should not be used by women or children. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant must not handle crushed or broken tablets due to the risk of abnormalities of the external genitalia in a male fetus.
Do not take finasteride if you are allergic to finasteride or any component of the formulation.
Before starting therapy, inform your healthcare provider if you have liver disease, prostate conditions, are undergoing PSA testing, have a history of depression or mood disorders, have concerns about fertility or semen quality, or notice breast changes.
