This medication contains both levothyroxine (T4) and liothyronine (T3) and should only be used under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider. Thyroid hormones must not be used for weight loss in patients with normal thyroid function. Higher-than-recommended doses may cause serious or life-threatening toxicity.
Do not use this medication if you have untreated adrenal insufficiency, untreated thyrotoxicosis, or known hypersensitivity to any ingredient in the formulation.
Use caution and inform your provider if you have heart disease, arrhythmias, high blood pressure, diabetes, osteoporosis, or if you take blood thinners, estrogen-containing medications, biotin supplements, or medications that interfere with thyroid hormone absorption.
Thyroid hormone therapy requires routine lab monitoring, including TSH and thyroid hormone levels. Dose adjustments should only be made by your provider.
