Do not take NP Thyroid if you have untreated adrenal insufficiency, untreated overactive thyroid, or a known allergy to thyroid hormone preparations.
Tell your provider if you have heart disease, angina, irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure, diabetes, pituitary or adrenal disorders, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Thyroid hormone therapy typically continues during pregnancy but requires close monitoring.
Regular lab monitoring of TSH and thyroid hormone levels is required to ensure proper dosing. Biotin supplements should be stopped at least 2 days before thyroid lab testing, as they may interfere with results.
Store at room temperature between 59°F and 86°F in a tightly closed container, protected from light and moisture, and keep out of reach of children.
