Testosterone therapy is not appropriate for men with known or suspected prostate cancer or male breast cancer. It should not be used in individuals with untreated elevated hematocrit, uncontrolled severe heart failure, or certain high risk cardiovascular conditions without provider clearance.
Men desiring future fertility should discuss this prior to starting therapy, as testosterone may suppress sperm production.
Routine monitoring may include testosterone levels, complete blood count, lipid panel, liver function tests, and prostate specific antigen testing when appropriate.
Do not adjust your dose or discontinue therapy without consulting your provider.
